Mary joined Aura Spa & Salon as Spa Director in December 2010. She received her BA in Public Communication from American University in Washington, DC. In 2006, she started her career in the spa industry with WTS International, a leisure consulting and management firm for hotels and resorts. With a primary focus on spa management, Mary has worked with Kimpton Hotels, Ritz Carlton, Hilton and The Spa at Trump - among others. She is also an acting board member of the Washington Spa Alliance.

Beth Shumaker

Massage Therapist & Reiki with Angels Master

Beth has been practicing Massage Therapy since 2004 and attended The Institute of Massage Therapies here in Richmond, VA. She has also been a Reiki with Angels Master since 2007. Her passion with massage therapy is blending it with Reiki to help guests relax on a physical and energetic level. Beth specializes in therapeutic massage, Reiki and working with cancer patients.

Carrie has been a massage therapist for 5 years. She graduated from Fortis College in Virginia Beach, VA. She loves massage because, as cheesy as it may sound, she loves helping people feel better. Her favorite massage is the Aura Signature Massage because it really allows her to focus on her client customizing the experience based on the guest’s needs.

Georgia Farr

Georgia’s interest in massage therapy and esthetics stemmed from an interest in metaphysics. She studied at The Virginia School of Massage Therapy while also perusing psychology and acting at VCU. After living abroad in Portugal, and traveling throughout Europe, she settled into working in St. Thomas. The love of family has brought her back to Richmond.

Diane graduated from the Institute of Advance Medical Esthetics in 2007 as a Master Esthetician, but has a combined 20 years of experience in the skincare industry. Her goal, when working with her clients, is to ensure they experience the serenity and indulgence of a truly pampering treatment while benefiting from the specialized products customized for their unique needs.

Emily has been a certified massage therapist since 2003. She is also certified in Eden Energy Medicine, a modality which empowers people to become more responsible for their own health by clearing blocked and stagnant energy and balancing the different energy systems of the body. Emily has also studied acupressure massage (Jin Shin Do), medical massage, and Indian Head Massage. Her favorite service is the 90 minute therapeutic massage simply because most people don’t realize how tense they truly are.

Jennifer Frank

Jenifer graduated from William and Mary in 2003 and started a career in teaching before realizing it wasn't her calling. In 2005, she went to school for massage therapy and has enjoyed this hands-on profession ever since. She is currently working toward a doctorate in Physical Therapy, so as to expand her knowledge.

Jose Luis is an expert hair colorist and master stylist with over 18 years of experience. He has trained with some of the top educators in the beauty industry in Paris, New York, Miami and Puerto Rico and was the winner of the "Beauty is As Beauty Does Contest" as well as a finalist of the "Style Star Global Hair Contest." Jose Luis has worked with celebrities in Puerto Rico and has performed as a hair stylist at international hair shows, New York Fashion Week and Miss Universe Beauty Pageant. He specializes in dimensional color, haircuts and styling for all hair types and occasions.
